Reflection
Inspiration
The daily habit of Writing Meditation Practice has brought me closer to myself. I’ve discovered joy amid pain and suffering, joy amid sitting, joy amid peace and joy amid creativity. This is the reason I felt a deepening urge to share this practice with whomever would listen. And more importantly, why I felt compelled to share the personalized practice with you, dear reader.
When the joy of practice overflowed and I could no longer contain it, I was ready to shout it from the rooftops. I wanted you to feel one with the “other,” to feel aligned with the universe, to see yourself in the eyes of the one you didn’t know yet. I wanted you to feel grounded, to harmonize your life, to experience joy and feel blessed whenever you struggle to create.
The more you practice, the closer you come to being your Authentic Self. And in being, and then finally becoming your true self, you understand what it is to know that all human beings have a true self. This realization softens your heart.
One more thing that years of Writing Meditation Practice has made me realize. When the five disciplines harmonize, they stir finer qualities. These qualities seem to emerge as byproducts without your paying deliberate attention to them.
You may have already cultivated them, but perhaps they have not yet come to your sphere of consciousness. Sense them. Feel them. Discover them. Here is the list:
- Being physically present in the moment
- Gratitude
- Generosity
- Forgiveness
- Fearlessness
- Patience
- Contentment
These traits have subtly elevated the quality of my familial, social, creative, and spiritual life. My mind uncluttered, my days simplified, these positives keep nourishing my artistic and spiritual growth.
When I became aware of the side benefit of Writing Meditation Practice, I felt a tenderness within myself, also a tenderness about everyone and everything in the world around me.
I feel wonder and awe not only from being in nature but from looking at ordinary things as if seeing them for the first time. Being alive, having the gift of one more day after waking up well rested, enjoying a delicious first meal of the day with the man I adore, writing what is swirling in my heart-mind and so on. You get the picture.
Each time I remind myself that this moment is filled with magic and mystery, my appreciation for the universe deepens. I contemplate how imagination and inspiration are rooted in wonderment. The feeling I am left with is the joy of contentment.
Writing Meditation Practice has brought me closer to you via my Authentic Self. I invite you to keep getting closer to your Authentic Self until you’re one with it.
Journal Prompt
Which of your positive qualities let you penetrate deeper within yourself and touch the finer feelings?
Lorraine
This post is full of energy and motivation. I’m thankful you decided to shout out your joy and share it with us. I feel the changes internally and externally. This holiday season with family has been my most relaxed and peaceful in years. I owe that to you and my new awareness of inner self. I’m starting to accept and appreciate joy over anxiety and stress. Thanks!
Madhu B. Wangu
That’s wonderful dear Lorraine! But you don’t owe anything to anyone. Be thankful to yourself for working so hard to make all the changes that have resulted in awareness, peace and relaxation.
